Part of Herald Square's ongoing retail makeover, the area formerly known just for Macy's has another new tenant lined up. H&M is planning to open a four-level, 63,000-square-foot flagship at Herald Center, where Daffy's used to be. When it opens next fall, that giant will be not the first, not the second, but the third 34th Street outpost for the affordable Swedish brand, as well as its largest store in the world. Don't fret, because what was going to be its largest store, at 57,000 square feet, is still going to open 48th and Fifth, while a 42,500-square-foot branch is set for 4 Times Square. H&M: taking over ground-level storefronts everywhere. [Racked NY]
