Our Historic Neighbors

One of Manhattan's tiniest historic districts sits at the northwest corner of Lexington Avenue and 89th Street. The Hardenbergh-Rhinelander Historic District?the name is bigger than the district itself?consists of seven 1889 houses designed by Henry Hardenbergh. (He also designed the Dakota and the 34th Street Waldorf-Astoria, among many other buildings.) The Rhinelanders were wealthy NYC property owners. [ENY]
