The Rainbow Room is on the path to rebirth. Restaurant suppliers and professionals say they were approached by third parties to bid on contracts for the 65th floor Art Deco landmark in 30 Rockefeller Center. Apparently, landlord Tishman Speyer, who evicted the former operator Cipriani in 2009, wants to run the venue themselves "with the help of some top restaurant professionals hired for the job." The site was granted interior landmark status last year, and Tishman Speyer hired architect Michael Gabellini to restore it to LPC standards. [NYP; previously]
