How does one update a 1930s tenement apartment while keeping it a time capsule to the past? The Tenement Museum faced such a riddle in its summer refresh of the historic Baldizzi apartment in 97 Orchard Street. The most interesting update is the addition of a Kewpie doll, which closely resembles the doll one of the Baldizzi daughters owned while living in the apartment. [Tenement.org; previously]
