Thom Filicia-Designed Caledonia 1BR With Terrace Asks $2.3M

New, 12 comments

Joining four other units at the Caledonia currently on the market, a one-bedroom just listed for $2,295,000. Presuming you can ignore some owners' beef with the Equinox at its ground level, this apartment got a pretty terrace that looks north toward Gehry's IAC Building and Jean Nouvel's 100 Eleventh Avenue, relatively reasonable maintenance charges ($1,092). Plus, ex-Queer Eye for the Straight Guy's Thom Filicia did the interiors, which have subtle purple accents. It's more whimsical then this pad he designed at the Blue building, but his old Soho apartment set quite a high standard. Seems he took a tip from his own apartment, though, and applied it to this Caledonia 1BR, installing a glass wall perforated by slender columns between the bedroom and the living room in both places. If you have guests, we sure hope there's some kind of curtain or shade to avoid any accidental peep shows.
