$2.25M Carriage House Hides on Unassuming Brooklyn Street

New, 19 comments

Brooklyn's Doughty Street is a narrow, oft-overlooked lane at the intersection of Dumbo and Brooklyn Heights. And sitting at 7 Doughty Street is this odd bit of real estate, a 3BR, 2BA carriage house that just hit the market for $2.25 million. Though the brokerbabble promises "lovely light," a peek at the street via Google Streetview leaves us skeptical, and the promised "secret walled garden," too, looks like it's just come through the winter. But there are two private parking spaces. And while there's no floorplan, the brokerbabble does reveal a bit about the layout:

On the upper levels, overlooking the picturesque front yard, is an airy living room with huge oversized windows and a quiet master bedroom featuring a small bonus den or office space and an en-suite bath. On the lower levels, an open dining and kitchen area allows for easy entertaining while two additional petite bedrooms may be kept as they are, or combined to create a generous second bedroom with a second full bath?.Private parking, radiant heat on the lower level, central air-conditioning, a washer and dryer, ample storage and hardwood floors throughout completes this unique home. And here's Doughty Street as shown on Google Streetview:

Just down the street at number 3, there's another new-to-market property, a three-level rental asking $6,800/month. That property is also a 3BR, 2BA with parking.

UPDATE: And a commenter points us to the floorplan for 7 Doughty:
