Every year, a whimsical arts festival called Figment takes over Governors Island, and a central feature of the installations is a funky pavilion designed by a smaller architectural firm. This year's winner was made up of 53,000 plastic bottles filled with blue liquid, and past entrants have always been, shall we say, fanciful. This will mark the competition's fourth year, and even though summer 2013 is barely over, organizers have already announced the five finalists for next year?four teams from NYC and one from Warsaw. Their creators received feedback from a jury and have until the end of the month to revise their designs, and the winner will be announced on Halloween. Just for kicks, vote for your favorite below.
