Lush Central Park Paintings At MCNY; Krug's New Townhouse

EAST HARLEM?We're big fans of these whimsical paintings of Central Park by Janet Ruttenberg, on display starting today at the Museum of the City of New York. Her subjects include Sheep Meadow, Augustus Saint-Gaudens's equestrian statue of General Sherman at Grand Army Plaza, and Literary Walk?depicted throughout all four seasons. (The artist's home is pretty cool, too, and packed with her paintings.) Have a look; the show is up till January 5. [CurbedWire Inbox; official]

GREENWICH VILLAGE?Once the most expensive townhouse in the neighborhood, renovated 80 Washington Place was on the market for half a year before getting PriceChopped to a mere $29.9 million in January. Apparently, someone's into the gourmet kitchen, catering kitchen, wine room, media center, home spa, fitness center, billiard room, rooftop terrace, and private zen garden. And the decorative water feature that runs down the former coal chute. Because although no sale has hit the public record books yet, a tipster writes in with an observation that it has "apparently been rented out to Krug, the champagne company, as some sort of outpost. I saw people loading in artwork, tons of champagne, etc. the other night, and there's a sign outside identifying it as Krug House. Here's a press release from Krug talking about the place, without mentioning its address." Does this mean no one sleeps there? Because we'd be interested in crashing there when Krug's not using it for events and the like. [CurbedWire Inbox; previously]

WEST CHELSEA?Forty percent of the units at Cary Tamarkin's 15-unit building, 508 West 24th Street, are already sold. Being near the High Line and all, it's rather in demand, so we figured we'd check in on the construction. There's the current state of affairs, pictured above. About seven more stories to go until it hits its planned 10! Here's what to expect when it's all complete. There are currently five units on the market (starting at $4.15 million) and six in contract, according to StreetEasy. We eagerly await the closings. [CurbedWire Staff; previously]
