A new five-story, 25-unit residential building is in the works in Crown Heights. Public records show that developer Empire State Management just bought two neighboring vacant lots at 1705 and 1699 Dean Street for around $879,000 back in May. This purchase comes in the wake of an eyebrow-raising asking price for an (admittedly gorgeous) townhouse and plans for a new music venue for cool people, as Crown Heights marches steadily towards full-on gentrification.
