The toxic and long-vacant Kent Avenue Generating Station site at Division Street on the Williamsburg waterfront will finally be cleaned up. The state Department of Environmental Protection will lead the decontamination, which actually started with the removal of asbestos from the old buildings back in 2011. Now they move onto the actual site, removing dirt and excavating. Work will continues into the spring, and pnce it's all clean and shiny, the lot will be sold to a developer to build a residential development. [Brownstoner]
