SPURA Wire

Big news people! Tomorrow, a design will be chosen for the largest tract of undeveloped land in Manhattan, the Seward Park Urban Renewal Area. At a community board meeting last night, a member of the SPURA task force said he had just come from a meeting with the Economic Development Corporation, and while he didn't come right out and say they chose the architects, it was pretty obvious. The Lo-Down confirmed the intel with other sources. SPURA will bring 1,000 units (half affordable), 15,000-square-foot public open space, and a new 30,000-square-foot Essex Market.
