Big Reveal: $1.795M For A 2BR Garden Duplex In Williamsburg

New, 10 comments

This week's Pricespotter property, a two-level 2BR/2BA in Williamsburg with a built-in bar and a garden out back, elicited a semi-heated discussion about whether the real estate market there is in a bubble. Answer: probably. "I can't see this selling for less than $25 million. It's Williamsburg," joked one commenter. Despite that mentality, most guessers actually undershot the asking price, which was $1,795,000. Many liked the apartment as a whole, but questioned the placement of a kids' room with street-facing windows near the front door as well as the necessity of a full bar in the basement. As usual, someone bemoaned the lack of a powder room. The first commenter to get it right astutely pointed out that the framed photographs in the master bedroom served as an unintentional hint: they depict the former knitting factory that was converted to luxury condo development Berry Street Lofts in 2005.
