Lights! Camera! Action!

Coming soon to the Queens Museum: a junk car drive-in theater! Starting in October, the museum will be showing several silent comedy shorts (scored by Greg Saunier of Deerhoof and others) and Jim Jarmusch's Night on Earth. Viewers will sit in salvaged junk cars, with films' audio piped in through the radio. It will also be a fully interactive, multimedia art experience and people are encouraged to poke around the glove compartments and jump on the cars and stuff. Why go to a convenient movie theater with comfortable seats to watch a current movie when you can pay fifteen bucks to sit in a rusty old car and see a silent film that came out ninety years ago?
