To design subway stations that better match passenger demographics, the MTA has taken some inspiration from?Disneyland and its practice of arranging attractions based on visitor movement. The agency is spending about $900,000 to move station furniture, turnstiles, and emergency gates to match passenger flow. Some stations will have their high-entry revolving turnstiles replaced with the lower-entry ones that lead to faster passenger traffic (and more fare evasion). [NYT; previously]
