Barclays Center developer Forest City Ratner already won the bid to redevelop the Nassau Coliseum, and now the plan is even more official with (unanimous) approval from the Nassau County Legislature. Forest City is bringing SHoP on board to design the new arena, and Forest City has won the right to develop the surrounding 77 acres, too. The problem, of course, is that home team the New York Islanders has already made plans to relocate to the Barclays Center, raising the question of where, exactly, the venue's revenue will come from.
