Tourists in the Bronx

New, 36 comments

The Bronx's first "luxury boutique hotel" opened last month, and over the holiday weekend, all 60 rooms were booked. But local businesses worry they won't benefit from these new visitors. The Bronx Tourism Council (who knew?) wants to take advantage of the opportunity to promote the borough's lesser-known attractions, but even some guests at the hotel still have a Bronx-is-burning mentality. One guest from Cincinnati was too scared to even go to Checkers alone; she made a hotel guard go with her. [DNAinfo; previously]
