The Morgans Hotel Group, which operates the Mondrian Soho, has filed a lawsuit against the hotel's owner, Sochin Downtown Realty, alleging that Sochin cut corners on construction and put hotel guests in danger. Sochin took out most of the generators from the plans, the suit claims, leaving the hotel with only one generator after Hurricane Sandy. Then there are other slights: "an A-list celebrity celebrating a birthday at the Hotel," reads the suit, did not stay for the whole reservation, "citing the inferior penthouse suite size."
