One of New York City's oldest skate parks, the Riverside Skate Park, constructed way back in the 1990s, has fallen into a state of disrepair over the years, and group of skaters have taken it upon themselves to fix up the ramps and equipment. They also want the park to be renamed after its founder, Andy Kessler, a New York skating legend who died in 2009, at age 48, from an allergic reaction to a wasp sting. [NYT; previously]
