Rare NYC Items on Ebay; Gowanus Whole Foods Update

THE INTERNET?Ebay is a treasure trove (or black hole) of unusual and hard-to-find items, and NYC history fiends will go gaga over three items that recently came through our inbox. Some earthly being is in possession of?and selling?a 1940's parking sign from Rikers Island, a 1939 World's Fair Kodak Bakelite Camera with the box and instructions, and a visitor's pass and key to the original World Trade Center. The seller, Global Garage, has a lot more vintage New York memorabilia as well. [CurbedWire Inbox; Ebay store]

GOWANUS?How's the Gowanus Whole Foods coming along? Curbed intern David Stein recently swung by the site to find out. Progress is chugging along, with the steel frame starting to get its walls. The 52,000-square-foot store is reportedly supposed to open in January. Photo after the jump. [CurbedWire Inbox; previously]
