On The Waterfront

New, 5 comments

Greenpoint residents may be suing to stop the development of tall towers along their waterfront, but hey, at least they'll be getting a park as a consolation prize. The MTA said it plans to to make good on its a promise it made back in 2005 to relocate Access-a-Ride vans that currently occupy a parking lot at the end of Box Street and build a 2.5-acre park?but there's a catch, of course. The park will cost $14 million, funds the city doesn't have unless it sells air rights to a controversial development that, yup, is part of the whole lawsuit kurfuffle. Confused yet? [NYDN]
