The City Planning Commission is facing a deadline clusterfuck. Before Bloomberg leaves office on December 31, there are a host of megaprojects vying to be approved. They include: SHoP's revised plan for the Domino site; the giant observation wheel and mall along the Staten Island waterfront; an enormous ice-skating rink in the Bronx; and the rezoning of a 74-block swath of Midtown East. (To name a few). Chair Amanda Burden has added four temporary planners to her staff, but she will probably have a giant headache till 2014 rolls around anyway. [Crain's]
