When music mogul/"X Factor" judge L.A. Reid's full-floor apartment in 515 Park Avenue went into contract last month, who would have thought the buyer was none other than the craziest apartment decorator in the game, legendary Broadway producer Hal Prince? Prince recently parted ways with his East 74th Street townhouse—which he decked out with enormous draperies, zig-zag paint, bright red carpeting, astroturf, and more—getting $19.1 million in the deal. He's not going far or keeping much of that money, though, having shelled out $16.5 million for Reid's apartment. We would love to see what he does with the place, which is currently very reserved, but probably never will unless he decides to sell the place. So, fingers crossed.
