The first of several public forums discussing the proposed soccer stadium at River Avenue and 157th Street in the Bronx ignited the mixed opinions of attendees earlier this week. With the crowd knowing that the homeless major league team, The New York City Football Club, is co-owned by the Yankees and Manchester City owner and Abu Dhabi royalty Sheik Mansour bin Zayed al-Nahyan, arguments over who and how the estimated $350 million stadium would be funded ran the evening. Many opined over the misuse of tax dollars in an already scarcely funded neighborhood, noting that the area was "fooled once" by Yankee Stadium. [DNAinfo; previously]
