New 40-Story Condo Planned For Fifth Avenue In NoMad

New, 5 comments

More changes are coming to the ever-popular microhood of NoMad. Bisnow (via DNAinfo) reports that the Kushner Real Estate Group is planning a 40-story condo tower at 281 Fifth Avenue on the corner of 30th Street. KRE president Jon Kushner (cousin of Jared Kushner) made the announcement earlier this week at a lunch for the Young Men's/Women's Real Estate Association of New York. The project will be about 135,000-square-feet, and it will replace three buildings (279-281 Fifth Avenue, 2 East 30th Street) on the site that KRE bought in 2012. The corner building sits at just three stories, but current zoning would allow for a much taller structure. During the lunch, Kushner said HWKN, an architecture firm co-founded by his brother Marc Kushner, would design the new tower, so we can expect something far from ordinary.
