Park officials are at a loss to explain the sudden rash of skunk sightings in Central Park. Two dogs have been sprayed recently, and causing fear and consternation among other dog-walkers. The NYC Park Department has no plans, however, to do anything about the skunks, saying, in a statement, "As a general policy, NYC Parks does not interfere with the natural habitat of skunks and will not relocate healthy skunks found in a park. Skunks are part of the wildlife of New York City." Hopefully this isn't the new Summer of Bees. [NYP]
