SNL's Seth Meyers Drops $3.5M On A Modest Village Condo

New, 34 comments

Right before 2013 ended, Saturday Night Live's Seth Meyers—he's head writer, but anchoring Weekend Update is why most will recognize his face—spent $3,525,000 on a two-bedroom in the West Village. Real Estalker first reported the closing, and it all dovetails: new year, new wife, new job... and a new apartment. Meyers married longtime girlfriend Alexi Ashe this fall, and in February he debuts as NBC's new Late Night host, replacing Jimmy Fallon, who's graduating to the The Tonight Show. Meyers's 12th-floor unit at 302 West 12th Street has two baths, a sunken living room, a wood-burning fireplace, and an odd little floorplan. If Meyers were writing about the apartment himself, he could probably come up with a moderately clever joke about the angular kitchen/dining nook and also about how the bedrooms are every-so-Downton-ialy labeled "chambers." But he's not. The previous owners bought it for a mere $550,000 in the 90s, but Meyers would probably not find that flip funny.
