On The Water

Rockaway residents got further reprieve for their transit woes today, when Mayor de Blasio announced he will extend weekday ferry service between the southeastern Queens neighborhood, Sunset Park, and Manhattan until May or even August. The program, currently run by Seastreak, were already extended once, in August 2013, and might even become a permanent fixture since the city is issuing an RFP next month to search for a permanent operator. The cost is now $3.50 per ride, a $1 increase. [CurbedWire Inbox; previously]
