This Park Avenue One-Bedroom Has The Gall To Ask $18.5M

New, 34 comments

Granted, this new-to-market co-op is located at 73rd and Park, has three large terraces, and boasts a generously sized living room, media room, and dining room. There is a 7' x 8.6' "guest room," too, but it's is clearly designed for household help since it's minuscule and located past the pantry and washer-dryer. So it's a one-bedroom, albeit a big one at 3,500 square feet, and the 785 Park Avenue sellers want $18,500,000. (It tried to fetch $15M in 2007 but de-listed a year later.) Part of unit #17BC's allure comes from the fact that its super minimalist decor (excuse us, "white-on-white palette") is the brainchild of Michael Gabellini of Gabellini Sheppard, and also won an award for interior design from the American Institute of Architects... in 1998. Perhaps because of the ambitious ask, it's co-listed by BHS and Sotheby's.
