A year into construction on the bridge that will replace the Tappan Zee, the New York Observer has officially put in their two-cents regarding the new span's name. In an editorial published on Tuesday evening, the Observer proposed that the bridge be named in honor of Former Governor Mario Cuomo, under whom a vision of New York was articulated that "captured the nation's imagination and helped revive the state's morale." As far as the Observer's concerned, you can begin calling it the Mario Cuomo Bridge today. [NYO; previously]
