Office Space

After IBM and Watson crushed Twitter's dreams for space in the Deathstar, the social media giant moved on to other spaces. Specifically, the company moved on to 140,000-square-feet of space at 245 and 249 West 17th Street. In November, reports swirled that Twitter wanted to take space in 51 Astor Place, where rents top $115 per square foot, but the IBM came along. It seems to have worked out better for Twitter anyway, as rents in their new digs are about $70 to $80 per square foot. [Crain's; all 51 Astor Place coverage]
