First Lavish Puck Penthouse To Hit The Market Wants $21M

New, 54 comments

They're finally here! Well, at least one of them is. The smallest of the six penthouses Jared Kushner has meticulously constructed atop the 1885-built brick beauty has officially come to market. Penthouse VI, the first finished unit, is a 3BR/4.5BA that measures 4,895 square feet. While another unit is reportedly in contract for $27.5 million, this is the first apartment to hit the market with an actual listing, asking $21,000,000. The PH—which faces Jersey Street with exposures to both Mulberry and Lafayette—is "[r]esplendent with period details that include soaring barrel vault brick ceilings, cast-iron columns and beams, and oversize wood-framed loft windows," or so says the brokerbabble... and this might be one case where the reality of the apartment is actually on par with the grandiose claims. The floorplan itself is a thing of beauty if a little kitschy, with a sort of fake ye olde curlicue font. Reps say the rest of the units, which are expected to be priced in the $21 to $60 million range, will be completed within three months.

Here's some more of the prolific brokerbabble. There's just so much of it:

A dramatic entry gallery with a stunning honeycomb-patterned Venatino Giola Gray and Bardiglio White marble floor opens to the oversize corner Great Room, where a Quebec Noir marble-wrapped gas hearth elegantly takes center stage. The eat-in Kitchen has been meticulously designed and sourced, anchored by a fifty-nine inch stainless steel and brass La Cornue range with coordinating vented hood and complete Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances. Complementing the hand-poured radiant heat Terrazzo floor, custom white oak cabinetry in a rich mink finish is topped with Italian lava stone in a crackle glaze finish, with two-inch-thick honed Arabescatto Oro marble on the center island. Lustrous iridescent glazed ceramic tiles clad the barrel vault brick ceiling, adding drama to this prized architectural feature. The glamorous corner Master Suite offers a sitting room with fireplace, dual dressing rooms, exceptional views, and two master baths featuring Arabescatto Oro marble, honed Stormy Gray Travertine, custom vanities, polished nickel Waterworks fixtures, radiant heat floors, as well as 19" televisions built directly into each medicine cabinet. Beautifully appointed and generously proportioned, each Secondary Bedroom features a walk-in closet and en suite bath with honed Igia Venetino marble, radiant heat flooring, and custom vanity with Basaltina stone slab countertop and polished nickel Lefroy Brooks fittings. We're waiting on an invitation for a tour.
