Of Course This Brooklyn House Has Statues And A Flatscreen

New, 2 comments

Our weekly feature, Monday Mansion, examines the most interesting mega homes on the market in the far reaches of New York. Have a listing in mind that we're missing? Tell us about it. To the outer boroughs we go!

Today's search for houses in far-flung pockets of the city brings us to—where else?—Manhattan Beach. It may not be as blatantly blinged-out as our favorite controversy-tinged mansion in the similarly Russian neighborhood of Mill Basin, but there is the somewhat funky typical interior design decision of a giant flatscreen TV flanked by two classical-style statues. The single-family home at 925 Hampton Avenue boasts four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, plus lots of chandeliers, an animal-print rug, and a moody office filled with dark leather furniture. The area includes a private beach for kids, plus the house has its own swimming pool, heated sauna, and patio, as well as a two-car garage, and a private driveway for three cars. It's asking $1,872,000. Let's let the brokerbabble speak for itself: this "not-so-hidden treasure" is "surrouned by palaces." So "[t]hink Gatsby, but even closer to downtown Manhattan." Right.
