An embattled empty site at 215 Chrystie Street looks like it will actually be home to a 28-story Ian Schrager hotel/condo developmentnot just any one, though, but NYC's first Public hotel. The Lo-Down reports that plans have been filed for a 28-story mixed-use building designed by Beyer Blinder Belle. Guests will stay on the lower floors, with apartments (one or two per floor) from the 19th level up. Though the DOB hasn't yet approved the plans yet, the Sperone Westwater Gallery's efforts to to sink the hotel are probably a lost cause by now. [Lo-Down; previously]
