The dirtiest hotel in the country is cleaning up its act. After the death of long-time owner Tran Dinh Truong, the Hotel Carter at 250 West 43rd Street has been placed in the hands of a temporary administrator, who is in the process of having it completely redone. But it's more fun to remember the filthy times, back when the hotel's motto was, confusingly, "You Wanted in Time Square & Less," and insects crawled through the lobby. [NYT; previously]
