Beyond just the nearby "crazy house," Prospect-Lefferts Gardens is bidding farewell to even more Clarkson Avenue free-standing homes and hello to a new eight-story residential building between Flatbush and Bedford avenues, Buzz Buzz Home reports. According to DOB records, the 48-apartment building will be developed by Bushburg Properties, who are behind the Ridegewood Theater's conversion to 40 residential units. Nataliya Donskoy is the architect for this project, too, which doesn't give us high hopes for its aesthetic appeal.
The development will feature six apartments per floor, along with a recreation room and bike storage in the basement. The new building will adopt the address of 50 Clarkson Avenue, although the building will also consume 52 and 54 Clarkson. The three lots were traded for a total of about $1.75 million. To give a sense of what's being torn down, an interior shot of the soon-to-be-demolished 50 Clarkson Avenue, via an old Trulia listing, is below.
