In the past five years, New York City has built four major-league sports arenas with a combined cost of $4 billion. That's a lot of dough considering the rampant criticism these costly fields undergo. As the Super Bowl draws near and the new MetLife stadium draws flak for looking like a drab, grey "can of tuna," the Wall Street Journal wonders why New York City cannot build a great stadium.
