The Lower East Side will not be getting a Beastie Boys Square. Last night, the local community board voted 24-1 to reject the petition to rename the corner of Ludlow and Rivington Streets after the '90s hip hop group. The petition had 200 signatures of support, but the board said it did not reached the "high standard of meeting every single criteria [they] set out for co-namings." At least Beastie Boys fans have Adam Yauch Park in Brooklyn. [DNAinfo; previously]
