30 Park Place Rising Quickly; One57 Shadow Darkens Park

New, 20 comments

FINANCIAL DISTRICT—A tipster sent in some shots of developer Larry Silverstein's 30 Park Place, which broke ground only a couple of months ago and already appears to be sporting a second and third floor in addition to its three basement floors. The hotel/condo project, which was delayed for years but now appears to be making up for lost time, is also now boasting a Tumblr and a Twitter, with four followers. (It's unclear who exactly is behind those pages, though.) [CurbedWire Inbox; previously]

CENTRAL PARK—Blogger Dave Winer took a couple contrasting pictures of Central Park on Saturday. One pictures shows a part of the park that is not darkened by the looming shadow of One57. The other shows a different part, a popular sledding hill, in fact, that is. With all the megatowers set to rise on 57th Street, park-goers should prepare themselves for a lot of shade.
