A long-talked about plan to expand Metro-North service in the Bronx won support from Governor Cuomo, who pledged to seek federal disaster recovery aid to pay for the $1 billion expansion. Though it's still far in the future, the expansion would use new and existing tracks, and new stations would be built in Co-op City, Morris Park, Parkchester, and Hunts Point to connect the New Haven line to Penn Station. Not even an estimated timeline was given, so who knows when this could happen. [NYT; previously]
