1914 Time Capsule to Be Opened; 2614 Jackson Ave. Update

New, 2 comments

UPPER WEST SIDE—The New York Historical Society will open a century-old time capsule one week from today, on October 8. From the fantastic first sentence of the press release: "In 1914, a time capsule marking the tricentennial of the New Netherland Company charter was put on deposit at the New-York Historical Society by the Lower Wall Street Business Men's Association." It was supposed to be opened in 1974, but everybody forgot. Who knows what'll be in there. Maybe one of those hilarious bikes with one big wheel and one little wheel? Maybe a lot of mustache grease? Maybe a bunch of old newspaper clippings? Guess you'll just have to show up and find out. [CurbedWire Inbox]

LONG ISLAND CITY—The 98-unit 26-14 Jackson Avenue is now 50 percent leased, after debuting back in August. Studios there started at just under $2,000/month. [CurbedWire Inbox; previously]
