Down on the Bowery, neighbors have turned out to fight a proposed newsstand on the corner of Prince Street, according to Bowery Boogie. Last month, Community Board 2 unequivocally struck down the application after the larger magazine store Bouwerie Iconic, as well as concerned residents, appeared before the board to protest the newsstand. Last week, however, he returned to try for another location. Those opposed claim that the site could host video advertising, which "could be dangerous to motorists." [Bowery Boogie]
