The one tower that is moving ahead without a fight in South Street Seaport has a new look. YIMBY spotted renderings for Fortis Property Group's 151 Maiden Lane, a 51-story residential tower that will rise on the East River just south of South Street Seaport. Its signature helix-reminiscent balconies are thanks to project architect Goldstein, Hill & West. The building will hold 74 apartments spread over 140,000 square feet, with a 26th floor pool separating the building's multi-unit floors from its full-floor homes, which will occupy floors 27 through 51.
A first glimpse of the building's signature curves came back in January. The new renderings conspicuously leave out the development's adjoining Peter Poon hotel, which is supposed to stand 33 stories to the west of the residential tower. It seems its re-envisioning is still in the works. When complete, the hotel will have 271 hotel rooms.
