Checking In on the Slow Rise of Brooklyn's Next Tallest Tower

New, 2 comments

Of the masses and masses of apartments coming to Downtown Brooklyn, 861 of them will be in Avalon Willoughby West. All rentals, they will be housed in a monolithic glassy shell that'll peak at 596 feet and 57 stories. YIMBY just checked in on its progress, and the SLCE-designed tower has clearly passed the six-story mark it hit in September. Part of a lower level is even glassed in.

It had better sprout fast, because its status as the tallest will be short-lived. Though it'll always trump rental-condo combo 388 Bridge, the as-yet-unnamed SHoP project across from Junior's is set to rise a whopping, AWW-trouncing 775 feet. Onward and upward.
