It's been a long, hard climb for Tribeca's best staircase at 16 Jay Street, which has reappeared on the market along with its duplex surrounds for $7.52 million. The 3,820-square-foot home's owners have been trying, without avail, to offload the personalized apartment since 2009. Here's a reminder about how cool the staircase is: the cast iron and mahogany staircase was welded inside of the apartment, and the oxidized copper screen behind it was crafted by hand by the owner. Sure, niche real estate doesn't always sell easily, but this place certainly has a leg up to some of its competitors.
