$1.6M Osborne Co-op Features Historic Details, Literary Past

New, 16 comments

The legendary Osborne on West 57th Street has been home to plenty of creative minds, and the former residents of the recently-listed unit #10CB are no exception. According to the brokerbabble, the late authors Hortense Calisher and Curtis Harnack once resided in this two-bedroom unit, which is currently on the market for $1.6 million. The place clearly needs some sprucing up, but it retains the building's original 1885 Parquet de Versailles floors, and features a wood-burning fireplace and floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. The new supertall towers may be driving people away from 57th Street, but we bet a buyer will be easily charmed by the Osborne.
