Vanderbilt Corridor Rezoning Proposal; It's Howl-o-Ween

MIDTOWN EAST—Today City Planning launched its public review process for the proposed rezoning of the blocks on Vanderbilt and Madison avenues between 42nd and 47th streets, known as Vanderbilt Corridor. The rezoning would allow the construction of larger buildings along Vanderbilt and Madison avenues, and would require developers who take advantage of the increased FAR to make significant infrastructure and transit upgrades to the area connecting to Grand Central Terminal, as well as create new public spaces. As a benchmark in the proposal, One Vanderbilt will bring some $210 million of infrastructure improvements to the area in exchange for increased building rights. [CurbedWire inbox; previously]
