Churches in Brooklyn know that developers are hungry for their land, but they don't want to just sell it and move on. Many church leaders want to take after Harlem's Bethel Gospel Assembly, which built Fifth on the Park, and develop and manage these buildings themselves to provide affordable housing and community services, as well as a steady stream of revenue.
