Glassy Richard Meier Penthouse Ups Asking Price to $40 Million

New, 30 comments

This glassy four-bedroom duplex in Richard Meier's 165 Charles Street seems to embody the very essence of the word "penthouse," but that hasn't been enough for it to find a buyer since it was listed for $35 million back in June. That has led the owner, British art magazine publisher Louise T. Blouin MacBain (who paid $20.605 million for the place in December of 2005) to alter the price, although it appears to be going in the wrong direction. The apartment is now listed for an even $40 million, though nothing else seems to have changed. Sure, the penthouse is incredibly nice, but is it $8,789-per-square-foot nice? Guess we're going to find out.
