Owning a West Village townhouse seems pretty great — for many, a dream come true — but there are drawbacks that you might not consider until you actually live in one. For instance, sometimes your West Village townhouse is the townhouse that was prominently featured in Sex and the City and Sarah Jessica Parker keeps showing up and taking pictures of herself playing with shoes on your stoop.

The owners of 66 Perry Street, which was used in the later seasons of the show and in the movie (64 Perry Street, next door, was featured in the first three seasons) have, according to the Post, grown so tired of tourists and Sex and the City fans that they installed a metal chain across their steps along with a "no trespassing" sign. That wasn't enough to stop Parker, of course, who staged a photo shoot on the steps earlier this month to promote her shoe line. "I heard about the shoot. They didn't get the permission from the owner," the president of the Perry Street block association told the Post. "The situation with 'SATC' visitors is still very intense."
