Howard Hughes Corporation, the firm who notoriously wants to bring a 50-story tower to Pier 17 in South Street Seaport, have broadened their grip on the area with the acquisition of 85 South Street. The eight-story, 24-apartment building sold to the firm for $20 million in an off-market deal that does not include the property's air rights.
